Two more reason we like Summit Racing

Just like TX Firefighter reported on the drop springs the Summit brand is high quality name brand in a white box. Last motor I did I put on the edelbrock mechanical fuel pump. It worked so well with the edelbrock carb I decided to get another one. This time I ordered the Summit labeled one. You get the same edelbrock pump in a white box for $50 instead of $92. Here are a couple of pics it has the same Edebrock casting right on the top. Also if you are looking for a stainless hose kit the have the $50 ones on clearence for $5!! Here is the linky for the hoses:

Re: Two more reason we like Summit Racing

Well, the part number does say SUM-EDL21, I'd assume EDL is for edelbrock... very cool, I may have to order one

Does an edelbrock push more fuel to the carb than a stock fuel pump? I don't want to turn my fuel sipper into a fuel sucker

I just unboxed a pair of their "Sport Truck Shocks" today. 30 bucks each and they are Doetsch Tech brand. Very nice stuff.

Re: Two more reason we like Summit Racing

Over the years I've spent bunch of money on all my projects. They have the best customer service and its delivered really quick. They have a Top end kit with there part number but is all Edlebrock parts. If you would buy with the Edlebrock part number you would pay over 200 bucks more. You can't beat the price. Summit uses great companies with there name on the box.

This is good to know. I was assuming that "store brand" stuff would be off shore stuff.

Re: Two more reason we like Summit Racing

I just installed a set of KYB shocks on the front of my truck. They were going for around $75 around here. I got the PAIR through Summit, including tax and shipping, for $89!!

BTW, I always heard the KYB Gas Adjust's were too stiff for the front end of a 2WD of our vintage. NOT THE CASE! My truck has NEVER ridden so well! Just the perfect balance of firmness, comfort and (dare I say it) cornering??? This is a relative term of course!

Re: Two more reason we like Summit Racing

Yeah I bought a set of DIS coils for the niece''s new DD Camaro, they were red MSD coils for $30 a piece, the junky parts store coils were $30 each so I got good stuff for cheap!! Gotta love the Summit brands, mostly name brand stuff in a white box!!

Has anyone tried the Summit Brand Cat-Back exhaust kits or their mufflers in general? I'm looking at it for my '02 Silverado.

Re: Two more reason we like Summit Racing

I'm curious if this is the same quality as the more expensive stuff. I mean, what if the "white box" parts are the ones that weren't quite up to the quality standards the company wants to put its name all over, but still good enough to work for a while and get some money for?

I know I bought some white box paintballs one time that come from a name brand(the mail-order place won't tell you what brand), and they are the ones that don't fit the company's standards, but are somewhat usable. They were dangerous and I'll never waste money on them again, let alone shoot them at people.

I used the summit cat back kit for a truck. It fit really well. You cant beat the price either the only thing I didnt like in the kit was it had the cheap stamped style muffler. But I think the whole kit was $150.
I also dont think that the summit boxed items are big brand rejects. My guess would be summit makes an offer to purchase large quanities from a company at a discounted price.

Does that radiator fit directly in our trucks? Or do you have to do anything special for it?

Ok, our radiator mounts would hit those slats on top of it wouldn't they?

it doesnt push more pressure but more volume unless you have big cubes, blower, or running high rpm you dont need it but to anwser your question if your needle&seat is holding you fuel useage will stay the same.

smoky02,
You can trim it. I am running the same radiator in my car and I removed it all, no problems.
