Re: my Son's truck is in the shop.
I'm still waiting for you to bring the title. LOL
may I suggest an HEI distributor? granted I can make the original one work but as you drive the dwell will change and it will slowly go out of tune. but with an HEI you (I) "set it and forget it". I'm not talking some fancy schmancy billet high woot dizzy, just a good factory unit gone through. I'll look, I might have one otherwise we could get one from Nordstrom's. www.ewepullet.com |

Re: my Son's truck is in the shop.
I consulted my book tonight and came up with the 4-Jet as being original for a 1967 327 truck with automatic. (7027125). I have yet to run the engine numbers but from the looks of things external it appears to be original as well.
things we need; dist. (I will hit nordstroms for this) driver's door hinge check strap (Lock Doc is THE man)<BTW, you owe him> LOL drivers wing window, I will have to look above my rafters but I am skeptical. oil and filter spark plugs happy light lenses (clear are a big no-no with the cops) shorter PS belt tail light lenses this list may be updated as I get rolling things I need to do; again, this will most likely grow significantly convert to HEI re-do the plug wires the way GM intended them tune up the old dog change the oil and filter possible do a tranny filter fix the drivers door hinge replace the wing window lube the door internals and window regulators get the pass. door to open wire up the happy lights replace front springs along with a chassis lubing replace the PS belt with a shorter one replace the broken tail light lenses check and/or repair all lights/wiring adjust shifter linkage possibly rebuild the carb comments or suggestions anyone? Re: my Son's truck is in the shop.
progress;
got the carb apart and ready for soaking on Monday dizzy is out and ready to drop in the HEI front shocks are off. I haven't put the new ones on yet. I wanna talk to you about those springs with the dual spacers in each (we should get new springs, maybe a 2" drop) do you wanna do something about the steering fluid leaks? http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=253657 |

Re: my Son's truck is in the shop.
....... if we put new springs in front they should be stock replacements. even putting an hei in was a big leap for me, but I know it was a good simple upgrade,
I got bigger adjustable plans for truck eventually but want my Son in on those mods or upgrades...... I want him to ride in/ drive it stock as it is and go from there....... the Alan Jackson song '' When Daddy let me drive''.. is in the back of my head on a few things about the truck he is only 4 next month but is learning fast. thank again Todd life is good, kent
