How much to cut out?

What do I need to cut out to make a longbed frame into a shortbed frame? If anyone has pics or diagrams can you send them. Thanks in advance.

Cut 12" out between the brackets attached to frame that the front and rear cab mounts sit on, remove the furthest forward bed mount riveted to top of frame, and remove & re-attach the rear cab frame mount bracket 12" further to rear, cut 8" off rear of frame.

But what is wrong with a long wheel base? I guess to each their own. But as long as you are going to make a short wheel base what are you going to do with your long wheel base bed? Let me know Please!!!!!!!

Thanks

I have 2 longbed frames, 1 3/4ton frame, 1 fleet and 1 stepside long bed. I was thinking of making a removable hardtop roadster with the fleetside but looking to sell the stepside.

My long bed was in really bad shape being a Minnesota truck. I know a guy in Cambridge MN that goes to AZ that found me a shorty down there. I'm sure with my bb402 and a short box i'll get some really good smoke! My wife tells me to act my age.
