can mech temp guage be fixed

I have a auto meter mech temp gauge which I broke the end by sending unit,I,m sure they can,t be fixed but you never know.I just want to know before dish out $100.oo for a new one ,is a 2 5/8 sport comp black face.e bay wants to much for one

As far as I know you can't. I believe they are calibrated by the amount of gas or liquid inside that capillary tube. I'm sure it could be fixed professionally but that would probably rival the cost of a new gauge.
