...of stupid PO fixes.

Apparently the back of the fan slider broke off where the cable attaches. It's ok. Just attach a Lite Beer key chain bottle opener to the cable and let it dange from under the dash. That's classy.

Whatever it takes. I once used paper clips and rubber bands to make a throttle return spring for my VW. Us rednecks will figure out a fix to get 'er home while the yuppies cry because their cell phone battery is dead and they can't call a tow truck.

There is nothing at all wrong with doing something to get it home, or to do something to hold it till next pay day... but to do it and call it good enough is a little messed up.

I have a pair of toothpicks snapped off in the roll pin connecting the shifter to the steering column to keep it from working it's way out.

Always lookin' to put the 'k' in kwality.

Sometimes those getcha by repairs end up gitter done repairs for good.
Was he trying to fix the heat control?Cuz,there`salready a retactable bottle opener on each side of the seat.Oh,it wasn`t intended for that?...I see

sounds like my truck. my blower switch let all the smoke out 4 years ago. of course it was a cold morning and no correct parts available. so i did what I had to do. I grabbed a couple DTSP toggle switches and a small piece of sheet metal. so what if it looks weird, at least I can see and don't freeze.
this is only temporary, unless it works. LOL

same with my window crank knobs. they broke off after 38 years. apparently the original design is flawed. so I made my own with a 5/16 bolt and a bunch of 3/8 nuts for rollers.
