WTB - Engine Compartment Wiring Harness

I have a '68 w/ a 396 and have some temporary extra room in the engine compartment (while the heads are off and at the shop). The wiring for the motor in this thing is junk and I would like to replace. Wiring for the lights/etc seem to be all good, but the wires leading into the distri, carb, etc are junk.

let me know if you have something that would work OR a better idea.

thanks for reading!

I've got a wiring harness off of a 68 that looks like it's in good shape. $40 shipped.

Good question. I'll have to look. Do you have a picture or know the color of the wires?

Re: WTB - Engine Compartment Wiring Harness

not really because the wiring job someone did on mine is shotty, so I don't feel confident that it is accurate.

honestly I am not good with wiring (willing to try to improve) but can't speak with any certainly on what will/won't work.

for what it's worth, the wire in mine currently is red (that I think goes to the choke??) and there is a red wire that goes to the distri cap.

I dno't have my chassis manual in front of me, but I can look when I get back home to see what the deal is.

HR: What condition is that harness in? have any pics of it? I think I can 'upgrade' the stock one to fit the HEI and elect. choke.

thanks.

Re: WTB - Engine Compartment Wiring Harness

no prob. if it's clean and you would consider it good enough to use, then I can take your word for it.

I am not building a resto, nor a show truck, but I would prefer it look nice ...oh, and work!

consider me sold unless you think I will have any trouble with it.
