shock relocating brackets

does anyone have any pics of shock relocating brackets? And what is the purpose of them, too run stock shocks on a lowered truck? any help? thanks

I spent the time to make my own for my current project. The purpose is to stand the shocks up closer to vertical and extend them more so the shocks have more stroke left to use. When you use lowering springs in the rear the stock bracket holes get closer together and you risk the chance of bottoming out the shock. The shocks go from being vertical to horizontal which makes them ineffective.

stealthy, you also need a shorter shock. If you dropped 4", then of course, a 4" shorter shock. If you call the 800 customer serive # for any of the major shock mfgs, they can tell you the dimensions (length) on the factory shock and then with your info, they can give you their part number for the same shock that is shorter. Many of the suppliers sell the shorter shocks for "lowered" trucks, but with the mfg info that I referenced, you can buy them at Autozone or similar, and not have to wait or pay shipping- HTH

Check with ECE (Early Classic Enterprises), they offer a nice set of KYB shocks for lowered applications; and they even have shock relocator brackets.

Just by changing the angle of the shock, you will notice an improved ride quality, guaranteed!
