Fan Shroud ID

How can I tell the difference between a v6 or a Big block fan shroud. Can't find any numbers on it .

One way is to measure the distance between the upper mount bolt holes.. the Big block one is the same width as a small block.. the V6 one is approx 2 inches narrower.

there is a part number on them but usually hard to read.. its on the face of the lip on the round part of the shroud, towards the engine.

Like Livrat already said above, the p/n should be molded into the outer lip of the shroud (area circled in blue). The p/n 3924932 is the correct for 396/402 V-8's, and the V-6 shrouds have the p/n 3903752 molded in the same location.
