445 or 454
which stock motor would be faster, an olds' 445 or a BBC 454? i have a bet with a friend, THANKS!!

I guess that would depend. If the 455 is between the fenders of a stock Catalina, and the 454 was in a 63 Chevll all tube chassied out. Then I would pick the Catalina.
 Kidding.What are the imaginary parameters of the bet?

Assume they are both 70 auto's, highest HP options? Both are ground pounders. Not even sure if the Olds offered a 4spd. But I would have to go with the Chev on both. Barely.

Olds motor I thought built real torquey motors but not much on top end stock and heavy so I would bet 454.
