445 or 454
which stock motor would be faster, an olds' 445 or a BBC 454? i have a bet with a friend, THANKS!!

I guess that would depend. If the 455 is between the fenders of a stock Catalina, and the 454 was in a 63 Chevll all tube chassied out. Then I would pick the Catalina. Kidding.
What are the imaginary parameters of the bet? |

Assume they are both 70 auto's, highest HP options? Both are ground pounders. Not even sure if the Olds offered a 4spd. But I would have to go with the Chev on both. Barely.

Olds motor I thought built real torquey motors but not much on top end stock and heavy so I would bet 454.
