ECE track bar and CPP notch

I installed a CPP bolt in notch on my truck that has an ECE 4-6 drop and adjustable track bar. The track bar hits the frame before the axle hits the bumpers in the notch. I am sure others have had this problem. my options are to add a two inch block and new 4 inch springs or add the two inch block and bags. I will be doing the bags as I planned to bag it later anyway. The bags will be operated with shrader valves for now.

I want bags that will work in the stock spring locations. I do not want to lay anything, I just want a cool stance with the ability to haul stuff.

What bags should I use?

2500HD... I don't want to take away from answering your question, but I did want to know if you ran into issues with your 4/6 drop? Is the top shot with the rear spring removed?

Yes the springs are removed on both pictures. I was checking everything out so the springs were removed.

ART recommends the F-6781 (255c) airbag on the rear of these trucks.
6.5" OD
3" min. height
4.5-5" ride height
7" max extension
2140#

Slams RE-6 would be similar.

I suggest adding the 2" block and the bags. Your only other choice is to fab a new bracket for the Track Bar. Some people use a bracket mounted directly to the trailing arm. (welded or bolted)
I used Slam Specialties Re-7 bags on my blazer.

Scoti, I have seen you post before saying the 2 inch block allows you to run the right air pressure in the spring for a good ride quality. Was that with the larger RE7 (224c) bags or the smaller RE6 (255c) bags?

Where is the best place to buy?

I did originally have the larger bags & swapped to the smaller units. You'll want the blocks w/the larger bags; the smaller ones I feel still benefit as well (the shock travel definitely benefits from lowering blocks).

The block with have to be used no matter which bag I use so the track bar will not hit the frame before the bumper in the notch. Is your 67 notched and did you have the same problem? If you where starting over with bag would you use? I am leaning towards the larger RE7/224C bag.

You may need a larger bumpstop in the notch also. The center section of the rearend will be very close to the bed floor when you air out the bags.

Bolt-in c-notches & I didn't have bumpstops.... I used the bed floor.

I did "do it over" & that's where I swapped in the smaller bags (the first info I listed). I relocated the long PHB w/a custom mount so I didn't have to worry about the c-notch & I leveled the bar w/the ground @ ride height (it wasn't originally).

I used the larger bags initially so I could carry one spare that would work on any corner should the need arise.

This is what happens when you start to mix and match different brands of parts.

CPP uses a different style track bar mount on the arms. This is what it looks like,



Any as you know, the ECE version



Very different styles and different fitment of the two. I try to stick to one brand on a project to help eliminate these types of problems. YMMV
