Question wanted: info 1965 rear step license plate mount

Howdy folks.

I am looking for information and images, or scans of old chevy dealer catalogs, etc..

I am trying to find out what style of license plate bracket I need for my 1965 Chevrolet C10 lwb stepside.

The stepside and fleetside rear bumpers are shaped differently. I have been told there are different types of license plate brackets. I do not know if this is due to the type of the bumper or if it was a change during the model run.

Any information is welcome.

Thanks.

I think they are still reproduced, they used the same set-up 55-66 for a factory stepside rear bumper.

,,, you might have seen the same, but the only 2 pics I have of stepsides with the factory rear bumper have the lp screwed into the rear bed rail.
this first pic is a bracket that is listed 55-59 stepside.
the second pic is a bracket that is listed as all 60-66 c,k,panel, and suburban... does not say if it is stepside also...
I could not find any definate info about the 60-66 rear lp bracket on a quick search...

That is how mine currently is!

Which is why I am trying to make it look a little nicer.

I've been told on the reproduction plate mount pieces that you have to use a bit of a spacer to make it drop down just right so that everything still lines up and works. Tailgate, etc..

Which is why I've been looking for information about the originals.

If anyone else wanders in here, feel free to add what you have.

Thanks folks.

more step side bracket pictures

"66stepside" on the stovebolt page sent me these pics awhile back. I forgot about them until I was searching around in my truck files folder.

Anyway, he took pics pf the backside of the bumper to show the holes and how everything lines up.

I also added a few other images people have sent me.
