Previous owners (Rant)
So I dont know about you, but some of the previous owners of my truck just didnt care. I descovered a few things today while it was on the lift at the exhaust shop. The T case cross member is missing a bolt, the trans coolant line is under the oil pan, above engine cross member. The truck wasnt running for about 12 years before I got it BTW. I could go on, and on.

Re: Previous owners (Rant)
electrical... leave electrical to people who know what the hell os going on!
ive pulled two fist fulls of wire out f my engine bay.. pointless "redundant" wire.. that last year set my damn truck bay on fire.. it sucked.. cost me a battery and a 12 ack of patience ot get it done.. now im on my front en rebuild.. and it's just redicilous some of the things i found... took a year before i built up the time and money to fix. it.. bleh! ....... im working on a neon in my driveway that a shop had for a family friend.. im going through the entire engine bay harness trying to fix all the "wrench dings" in the wire.. that has totally destroyed the fuel system.. CRAP!

Re: Previous owners (Rant)
when i bought my 71, neither engine mount bolts were in! Yikes. I dont know how that thing didnt jump out. Only had 4 hand tight bellhousing bolts. Had door handles shaved. Which make it look horrible, pain to get in and out of and the bondo is falling out of it.

Eturnit3- that looks like a swell gas cylinder holder... hahaha
I'm bugged by old electrics as is dammitmitchell. two of my vehicles have had hacked up wiring. My dd is a 93 sonoma with a 95/96 motor and 700r4(they came with 4l60's or 4l60e's) The wiring was a nightmare- original wiring tapped into homemade distro block. That tapped into the engine harness, and back into the stock harness. There were 3, yep 3 add on fuze blocks, each with wires running to nothing, and to critical parts. I had to clean it all up before it started a fire. in my 71, well, I found the old beer can and bondo body work in the cab. The bondo was shaped just right to mimic the floor. and it wasn't until I started my fender project that I figured out why my wheel arches looked different. They had a little 'flare' on them, stuck out about 3/4" or so, Some guys who really know this truck would notice them.I assumed that it was rolled with a bat until I started to use them to make the bigger fenders. There was only bondo making the flare, way way underneath was the stock sheetmetal. And then there's the average things- both doors had different keys I only got one of them, The radio was cut out for a newer style, with house speakers under the seat etc.

Also, while picking up my truck from exhaust shop, the exhaust manifold cracked about 1/2 mile away. The exhaust sounded awsome BTW!! So I drove back to the shop, had a friend bring me some headers that I have. I hope they will fit... |

Re: Previous owners (Rant)
I bought mine with no motor/trans/t-case so I didn't have the motor mount and bell housing bolt issues you guys have had. What I did get was No, and I mean no, nota, zip, zero seat belts in cab, and the dash was hacked all to hell for some cd player that had been since removed. No front bumper, and a Western Uni-mount snow plow bracket.

but it had lap belts for the lap, and also bolted in the 3rd point! yeah, he bolted lap belts in the shoulder position. needless to say I put proper belts in it... |

Re: Previous owners (Rant)
ahhhh man, I dont got pictures but the previous owner diamond tucked the bench seat, dash, door panels, and put a damn 6" chain steering wheel on the 4x4. I think he was trying to make a lowrider out of a 4x4. That **** didnt last long cause i ripped it out the same week i got the truck.

Re: Previous owners (Rant)
Mordachai- you didn't by chance have factory shoulder harnesses did you? They look a lot like lap belts.
