Steering column question.

What kind of time/labor am I going to be looking at to put in a new cancel cam and ignition switch??
From what I've been told the ignition switch is in the column.

What's the name of the tool I use to get into the steering column? Isn't it similiar to most jawed pullers?

God link Brandon that should be very helpful to someone doing that for the first time.

My question is about the turn signal cancel cam. I have replaced 2 already, sometimes I hit it too hard and I crack the plastic inside. It makes me made and costs me money. Does anyone know of an aluminum or steel cancel cam that I could use?

Eddie- Afraid not. The plastic is there since the horn ring makes the contact. If it were metal then it may short it out.

like that matters to me, my horn still dont work
but im gonna order a new center peice for my grant wheel cause mine is meesed up. I think Ill get the billet one with the bow-tie in it. I think swervin has the same one. When I install it I'll replace my cam and try to get my horn to work.

Okay I can handle that. The only thing I didn't see a pic of was the actual ignition switch is it something totally seperate of the actual ignition?

Izzy- Are you looking for the ignition switch itself? I'm thinking you're looking for this. The key cylinder pulls a on a rod that activates the ignition. Look below to see what I mean. The rod on top moves the placement of the switch. Best way to get to it is to loosen the column nuts that hold the U shaped bracket in place on the under dash that are and have the tilt come down to access it. If you needmore pics let me know. I've got the column out (old one) before I sell it.
