Your friend is wrong, no power windows or door locks in 72.

Re: help settle disagreement about power window opt

Well I can say it, my truck has the very rare corvette optioned big block 3 door Suburban.

There, I have let everybody in on my secret goverment optioned big block.

Now I have to go back into the witness protection program

I thought people with the Corvette option belonged in the WITLESS protection program!

Re: help settle disagreement about power window opt

I hate to have to make you lose a bet BUT there was a dealer installed option for power windows on the 1972 truck I know for sure as I've seen 1 and have the literature showing them available somewhere around here I believe it might have been shown in the dealer custom features brochures and I believe its also is listed in the Chevrolet Dealer Accessory List & Price Schedule, plus they are in the GM Master Parts Catalogs. They did not go over very well and its understandable why once you see one. The motor installed on the shaft of the window regulator that your window crank attached to, the motor then had a black plastic cover over it sealing it to the door panel. It looks about like a 1/2 size 8oz old style coke bottle that is flat on 1 side attached to the window regulator shaft on the outside of the door panel itself VERY ODD Looking & UGLY IN MY OPINION. Power door locks however were never a option on 67-72 trucks. I'm not positive on all the years it was offered I DEFINATELY KNOW IT WAS IN 1972 but I think it was also available in 1971.

Re: help settle disagreement about power window opt

a coffee mug was also a dealer accessory.... but never an option.
Factory installed, listed on the spid RPO, no, no power windows.

Well said red.
This corvette option thing is getting dumber and dumber every time it's typed. I figured you'd all feel stupid and stop when a new member logged on and asked what the corvette option consisted of.

Re: help settle disagreement about power window opt

Longhorn Man has correctly drawn the distinction between options and accessories.

I have a large accessories manual as well as the small/truck accessories manual and have never seen the power windows in them. GMC Paul, where did you see this?
