tranny crossmember change?

I have a 1980 2 wheel dr. swb that had a six in it now I,m putting in a 350 but I don,t like the tranny crossmember, looks like I might not get dual ex. through there,I want the ex. between frame rails. Are all crossmembers interchangeable?

For the most part, yes they are interchangeable. You might have to drill a few new holes... but that's it.

On a side note... you shouldn't have any trouble running dual pipes through there no matter which one you have.

There is no way that the one posted above is a good alternative. The frame is weak to begin with and needs to be tied in top and bottom, not just side to side.
