What did you get done? 06/21
Bob has taken over the weekly "What did you get done? " post and has been doing a fine job with it. I am on vacation in Orlando this week with my family. We came here for my daughter to compete in the AAU volleyball Nationals. While we were here we had to see the sites as well.
Rather than stay near the Convention Center in a traditional hotel, we opted to stay in a Condo style resort. If you visist the area I highly recommend the Floridays Resort. The luxurious amenities are well worth the extra money spent. Take a look at our view....

She played at the Orange County Convention Center which is one of the most beautiful and well appointed large scale CC's I have ever been to.

Since the event is hosted by Disney, they also played at the Wide World of Sports Complex on the Disney properties.

Re: What did you get done? 06/21
They played awesome the first two days. Sweeping their pools taking out higher seeded teams along the way. Unfortunately dau thre was not too kind and they bombed out with a 4th place finish. Day four gave them an opportunity to beat a home town rival, and win the consolation Division. It started well with win, but spiraled down in a competitive ball of flames.
Sooo, what do you do to console a frustrated group of young ladies? You take them to Universal Studios for some leisure time, and follow up with a dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe...

Dang dude,
You're almost as bad as Andy and Mike, road trips all the time. Sounds like you had a good time! I just closed out a year long rollercoaster ride starting with my moms passing in November followed up by my first daughters wedding mid December and my only other child/daughters wedding yesterday! I'm exhausted (and broke)!!!! Kenny

Happy Father's Day... and the first day of summer!!
I went junk yarding yesterday looking for a '73-'80 front bumper. Again, no luck. But I did score the short wiper stands I needed and I found a near perfect '73-'74 front grille, so all was not lost.

Re: What did you get done? 06/21
I got most of the paint done on my tractor. I been working on it for about 3 weeks now. All I got left is to put rings in it, new outer engine gaskets, rebuild the hydro pump and find rear fenders for it. It's a 58 ford 841 Diesel
For my fathers day I'm going to drag dirt all over the place with it. 3 Weeks ago: Now: |

Yesterday I striped my 85's interior. I am doing a complete color change from beige to med grey. I still need to paint the lower dash.

Re: What did you get done? 06/21
Friday, went to the "Back to the 50's" show at the state fairgrounds...had a blast, lots-o pics in the link below...
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=349263 Saturday, I did a bunch of exterior chores ands wore myself out. Sunday, my wife and I went and watched the Lowry bridge implosion. Bridge was built in 1905 and has become unsafe...so down it goes, and a new one goes up. We were in a boat on the water, it was pretty impressive how fast it came down. This is also my second Fathers day, I picked up the shirt for my daughter at the show on Friday.

Re: What did you get done? 06/21
Worked on my dash panel that will soon be home to all Auto Meter gauges. Glassed in a couple panels for the air gauges. An old plastic tool case supplied some textured material for the air gauges backing. Also reinforced the radio area so my stereo could be mounted directly to the panel. Landau Black SEM coat makes it all look new.
I began mock up for some new door panels. The new panels will be flat with a clean simple armrest. I'm also relocating the door handle and changing the style with parts from a 69 C10. Yep, i inhaled a bunch of fiberglass resin this weekend. LOL.

Re: What did you get done? 06/21
During the week I continued my progress on the 64 to 68 frame swap (I had a 65 frame that was to be built as a roller for a project but it was bent. Had a modified 68 'experimental' frame that wasn't being used so w/a few relocations of bracketry, it will be used for the 64).
I got multiple comments during the week on the 74 as it has had my trailer behind it all week. The standard has been "I didn't know a low-rider could pull a trailer...". Today I pulled the bumper off the 64 for trial fit on the new frame so I can figure out what needs to be done to make a permanent swap. It's going to be a short week though as we're heading to TN for the GoodGuys show @ the end of the week (between work & the shop I have to do some laundry ) .

Re: What did you get done? 06/21
finished painting a 79 Trans Am for my better half. The stripe is the same color as the 76. Grand total for the paint, body work, and rust repair... $240
The rust was this bad on both sides and I had to patch the rockers and both front fenders as well. Still need to patch the floors and get some mechanical things taken care of, but it looks better than it did two months ago. |

Re: What did you get done? 06/21
Aside from the searing heat...I had to miss my sons last football game...I was sad, but I had to go do a side job that took me all day, trying to make some extra $ for truck stuff...then I wake up sunday and my big living room tv decided to die on me.
So we went and bought a new 52" lcd. Something I did not really want to do, was saving money for new rearend...I just don't think I will ever get it done! As for the new tv, I like it. I guess that is ok, huh? Went out for dinner sunday and the kids were totally misbehaving...What's new?

Re: What did you get done? 06/21
Picked up the Burb from Adam Saturday morning. Got back and unloaded it off the trailer, then cleaned up the shop.
Sunday morning the kids and I got the 68 moved over to the other bay and turned around 180º. Three stooges and a floor jack, it was kinda funny! Got the Burb pulled in the north bay and started tearing it down. Got the front bumper off, the grill and radiator support, headlight harness, and the accessories off the front of the motor. The rest of the week is dedicated to getting the 68 ready to load and haul to Kansas to meet up with HuggerCST and do the swap for the 85.
