E-BAY
Is it just me or has anyone else been ripped off on e-bay?
Or has the SELLER taken their time to send your stuff?

I buy stuff on a regular basis using ebay and I guess I've been very lucky.... In roughly 30 transactions I only had one problem, but the seller made it up to me for sending the item so late...
I think the key is to have good email communication with your seller.... also sending a money order (not a personal check)right away usually lets em know you're serious about receiving the item promptly... just my .02 ------------------ '72 short step, 350, 700R4, tilt, ps, pdb, a/c, lowered coils, etc., other work in progress... I've had over 300 transactions on eBay and have only had 1 guy swear he sent some heads I bought, but when I never got them, he sent me my money back. Every other transaction has gone well.
I never buy from anyone unless they have a high positive feedback rating. sc

I have been ripped off twice on ebay . Both times were for heads. First was for a set of closed chamber 351 Cleveland 4V heads. I paid for them and received one head and a broken open box. I filed with fedex and they picked up the head I received and returned it to the sender who filed a claim. Fedex would not honor the insurance as they claimed it was improperly wrapped which it was. The sender then refused to return my money and would only return the one head I did receive if I sednt him money for shipping. What an ass. tried everything with no luck. There is no recourse for bad sellers.
second time was for a "new" set of "new " small block chevy heads for my boat. I got them here and they were very poorly done rebuilds with stock sunken valves and looked as if they had been shimmed by a dumb kid who couldnt measure. They cost me $250 to get usable. No response from the seller.

Get pictures sent to you of what the stuff rerally looks like... there stuff.... not the stuff in the picture... had that happen...some times the pictures posted are not even of the stuff there selling... they just have a picture there using as a description.
And COMPLETE means to some sellers... that what I have a sent ....that's everything I have.... that's some people version of complete. I have even sent people pictures of what the correct stuff should look like and I still get the wrong stuff.... I guess missing 4 pieces to a BB AC set up is called complete if that all you have.... well not in my opinion...... its a losing battle on ebay somedays.

I've been waiting since March for a power steering gearbox.Looks like the guy took the money and ran.Buyer beware, chevy66impala, is eBay name.Tried to phone him never there,no email responses.I filed a complaint with eBay but still waiting. He's also no longer registered on eBay.This guy had 33 positive and 0 negative feedback.

Ebay will cover you up to $100 with thier insurance, so you can get at least $100 out of every deal that goes bad.

I have also had great luck with ebay. I only deal with people that have high positive feedback, and I only pay through paypal and ebay payments. Any clown can register under any user name for a one-time rip off. They'll be back tommorrow with a different name.

Here's how I have good luck with ebay:
#1 READ THE SELLERS FEEDBACK!!! Not just the ratio but why are people complaining. #2 E mail the seller. Even a stupid question like "you got more pics". If they don't answer, don't bid. #3 No Pic, No Bid. #4 Look for personal type comments, like "I bought this but it doesn't fit" and "there is a scratch here, a dent there". #5 If it's a big vendor, call them. Most have a number. #6 There are so many sellers that you can afford to be picky. I remember seeing the first Hilborn fuel injection set up on ebay and I freaked out. All I could think about was what can I sell to buy it. Now, I've seen so many there that I know I can wait til I have the cash. Good Luck. ------------------ "KEEP IT DOWN!" 70 Jimmy 454 2wd 56 GMC Big Window
