How do you remove the front quarter panels/fenders on a 67 c10
Folks,
I have 3 manuals for this truck and looked online... I don't want to start just unscrewing stuff. My question is, how do you unscrew the front fenders? I got the 2 screws up high by the window and the one at the base of the wheel well/cab... I'd ideally like to remove the inner wheel wells seperately so that I can sand them up and clean'em. Thanks, Chris |

You can to unbolt it from the core support. Also you have to unbolt it from the wheel wells (like 8-10 bolt around the inside) i cant really think of anything else at the moment.

There are two bolts under neath inside the wheel wells, but I can't remember off the top of my head if those have any bearing on the fenders themselves. I found it easier to just take it all apart and be done with it.

I think collectively, everybody has you covered.
Don't forget to take a "fine line" marker (a very sharp pencil will work too) and mark the location of your hood hinges on the hood and the fender(s). That makes the hood alignment so much easier. Grab a handful of resealable sammich bags and a big "Sharpie" and label the bags something like "left fender, left inner fender" & put the bolts for each piece of sheet metal in its own little baggie. I almost forgot, when you're trying to lift the fender off & it doesn't want to come off, wiggle it very gently to see where it's not moving. That is where the bolt(s) that you missed will be. Don't ask how I know this!

dont forget the 5-6 bolts connecting it to the front grill, those lower ones are kinda tricky, youll have to remove the headlight door and possanbly the h/l assy to get to them

if you have a stack of shims, say, underr a particular bolt, then wrap them all up in tape and label them as to whaere tey were/what bolt they were under.

Dang!
I never thought about the tape thing. I always used wire ties.
