Windshield replacement.
I have a '72 C30. The windshield has to be replaced. It's got a nice green tint to entire windshield. I assume this tint was standard? My question is this. Can I still get something like this from ANY glass company? Will they install it? Also, as near as I can tell, the window seal is still original. What would determine if replacement is required? Thanks all........

You should still be able to order one from a glass company, and being your in Orlando I would definitely replace the gasket I am sure it is probably dried out

Or get one from a junkyard if you have any good junkyards around there. Last one I pulled was out of a '67 and it had the green tint to it... cost me $60. I thought that was a little high as I normally pay $28.

Get one local and use a Precision brand gasket. You have a tinted windshield, I'd spring an extra few bucks and get a shaded one.the blue strip across the top. It's also tinted, but with the strip, down here, you'll be glad you did.

Re: Windshield replacement.
DW685GB shaded windshield part number. get PGW [ formerly PPG ]or pilkington brand glass most others will be thinner or distorted. . not saying that theirs are always better ,,,,just 80% of the time.

Re: Windshield replacement.
sorry so long to reply...you should ask for ppg-which is now known as pgw glass, pilkington,or guardian glass . price around . safelite makes a lot of their own glass.most is ok. but some models are junk. not that the others are dont have any flaws ,they all do . .i have put two 685s in recently. i prefer pilkington,a little bit thicker.,,,,,,,,,and thats good. all this is just my opinion.
