gear box shaft size?

im using a front crossmember and steering box from an 84 suburban on my 66 truck and i am trying to buy some ujoints for the steering shaft. my question is what size the the shaft from the steering box. i have got a few answers from a few diffrent sources and am not sure what is needed, i have ruled out a 3/4"-36 spline though. anyone know this size?
