how many MPG do you get?
I have a 350 SB with a 4- barrel edlebock carb in my '66 stepside and although my gas gauge doesn't work, I think I average something like 10mpg... pretty crappy
Of course, I don't really practice many economical driving habits ( read: I have a lead foot ) SO I'm thinking that could have something to do with it.... Whats your configuration and what do you all get per gallon?

I've got a 350, stock heads built, enlarged valves 2.02/1.60, Flat tops, comp cam 489 lift duration, roller tips, air gap intake, Holley 750, Hooker shorties. I was getting less then 10 before the rebuild with better parts.

Re: how many MPG do you get?
Not directly related, but my 65' Chevelle with a 350 crate motor and Edlebrock 4-barrel 650 cfm gets 12 mpg - on the freeway - if I just go a steady 65 mph on flat ground. Never get better than 10 mpg driving around town.

Re: how many MPG do you get?
Well at least I'm not alone
I can't tell you how many times I've run outta gas on the interstate in this truck. I fill her up using the 10mpg average to guess how much I need, and usually that works just fine if I drive nice and steady... its when I start hitting the high numbers on those long stretches of road... its all fun for a while then its cough.. cough... put..put.. and your on the side of the road. I always carry a full two gallon spare gas can in the back for this very reason

Re: how many MPG do you get?
I was pleasantly surprised to find I got 12-13 mpg on my recent freeway trip which was about 140-150 miles total. Turned 4000+ rpm (according to stock tach) at 65-70 mph most the way too. 383 stroker, 750 Edelbrock, decent cam, stock THM350, 3.73 and relatively small diameter tires. Around town? 8-10 mpg.

Re: how many MPG do you get?
Also, not my GMC, but my Nova SS gets 15 MPG on the highway. I'm running a 396 with a 650 Holley, Saginaw 4-speed and 2.41 limited slip.

Re: how many MPG do you get?
My DD is a C6 Vette and I average 22+ mpg driving back and forth to work and around town, but I drive pretty mildly. Key is good engine and good gearing. That's why I am prepping a 6.0 LS2 with T56 6-speed for my 65. I am counting on getting over 20 average. Will let you know by Christmas.

350/350 combo, edelbrock 4bbl, pulling 11 miles to the gallon. Seems like everybody in the same ballpark!

Re: how many MPG do you get?
When I was running my 350 with a big Qjet, camaro T5, and open 3.73, I could get 18 highway. Hoping to improve with a 454 with rebuilt Qjet, camaro T56, and posi 4.11. Wish me luck.
