Saginaw 3 speed
I have a saganaw (i think that is how you spell it) 3 speed out of some sort of pointiac i think. My question by any chance is this the tranny that came in the 67-72 trucks and if not will it work?

Re: Saginaw 3 speed
GM started using the Saginaw 3 spd in 1968, earlier likely had a very weak non-synchro low trans.
The basic Pontiac trans should be the same as the trucks, however, the trucks started using a 5 1/8 front bearing retainer where it fits the bellhousing in 1968, while the cars stayed with the earlier 4 11/16 size hole, so you may need to swap the front bearing retainer, (with a new gasket and seal) to match the bellhousing hole. Also, the truck trannys had threaded bolt holes for the bottom 2 bolts, cars just have holes, so you will need a bolt and nut inside the bellhousing to secure the bottom of the trans. Unless GM did something with the trans length or output shaft spline count, it should work.
