Suspension Questions

1:
I lowered my front with a lower control arm set up years ago (3"). I'm still in the middle of my project so the details of how I installed it are foggy to say the least. Any way. I went to put my shocks on yesterday and the upper mount fits but the hole thought the bushing on the shock is too small to fit on the lower stud. On the shock one hole is larger than the other and in order for them to work they should both be the same large size. I'm wondering if there is a difference in the sizes of studs for 67-70 vs 71-72. The lower control arm is of a 71-72 and my truck is a 69.

2:
I have converted my 69 to disk brakes. I had to change spindles of course. Do I need to change the ball joints? It seems like I might not be able to tighten the lower joints up enough.
