Weird vibrations...

yesterday i installed new sway bar bushings and when i was finished i took her out for a test drive and it handled great. but then this morning i took the truck out again to go a couple places in town and i noticed some abnormal vibrations when i accelerated from a stop. then it sorta went away around 35-40. when i got home i looked over everything and couldn't find anything out of the ordinary.
i know there is some smart guys on this site, so anyone have any ideas?

Re: Weird vibrations...

do you have a one or two piece driveshaft? the carrier bearing on a two piece is always good for a vibration...

when im diagnosing drivability issues i drive the car or truck at a range of speeds and turning the wheel back and forth going from neutral to drive to duplicate the problem and eliminate posibilitys.

it is difficult to diagnose with out driving it but the fact that you don't feel it as much between 35-40. i suspect 1 or more of your tires is out of balance.

installing new sway bar bushing is not going to cause a vibration, technichly sway bars only affect your suspension dynamics in a turn or uneven road surface.

this post got my thinking about some of the pranks we would play on coworkers when i was at the dealer. when no body was looking we put a bunch of stick on weights on one of the other guys wheel or drive shaft and it would make a crazy vibration

Re: Weird vibrations...

I was chasing a vibration for awhile and it ended up being a bent rim. I could have the tire/wheel re-balanced and it would be better for about 500 miles then it would come back ?? I have had them balanced 3 times now within 3,000 miles since I cant get ahold of decent rims yet.

I went as far as 4 brand new tires, wheel bearings, new u-joints and balance and motor/trans mounts.

All those things where not the issue, but it didnt hurt to do
