Looked at this one today

This might be original an original 54k truck. The current owner has had it for 15 years. It is an all original 6 cyl 3 on the tree truck. The motor has been rebuilt w/15k miles which leads me to beleive it may not be only 54k mi. The wood bed needs replace, no rust in rockers or cab corners, the rad support and pass ft fender was toasted by battery acid and there is a scrape/dent in lower pass door. It is just a very basic plain truck the asking price is $5900.
What do you think?

Looked at this one today

I think 3500/4000 is all the money for this truck. This truck would make a real cool dd. Drop in a 300/350 horse small block and leave the 3 on the tree. I love the sound of these trucks with V8's and 3 on the tree. Put some power discs and power steering and some wheels and tires and drive it till it stops. Oh yea don't forget it would need a good harp !!

Re: Looked at this one today

I just paid 6200 for mine 55000 miles wood bed and no rust lowered and 500 mile 350/350. However if it is worth it to you go for it ! I would probably have bought something like that if I hadn't found mine

Wow not even a radio? Does look clean none the less. That price seems high to me. At least around here I would put it at 1500, 2500 Tops. Neat little truck tho.

Gotta go with everyone else on this one. Nice truck but before I even saw anyone elses reactions I was thinking its a $3,500 dollar truck absolute tops! Great project truck nonetheless.

Re: Looked at this one today

I'd go $4000 or so. If you want a nice truck, this is the kind of piece to buy! You will save alot of money when you go to paint it by not having to replace the sheetmetal.IT"S MONEY WELL SPENT! IMO Good luck

Re: Looked at this one today

If you look close it does need body work rockers are rusted and the front fenders right along the door line, at the bottom. Nothing unussual by any means just means a litlle more work.

I will buy as many of these in this condition as you can find for $1500 and the check will not be from Nigera. I still believe $3500-4k tops.

What you see is rust on the sill plates only. The only rust/battery acid damage is to the core support and passenger front fender cup.

Re: Looked at this one today

Another "price is high" here... now a days for a couple grand more you can get a decent reconditioned truck.

For as clean as it is, I was thinking $3,500. As nice as it is, there's nothing special about it, it's a bare bones stepside.

Re: Looked at this one today

An odometer picture could very likely provide evidence as to whether the miles are actual or have rolled over. If it is actual miles all of the numbers will be aligned neatly in a row all at the same level.

Re: Looked at this one today

50k odd miles in 40 years? More like 250k.

The Chevy six is a great motor for a six, but IMHO the price is way high.

Chances are the rockers and cab corners are done for whether its obvious or not.

$2000

that is not true. I've had 2 cars where they were all jumbled up and not even, with less than 100 K, and every other car (gm or not) i have owned had all the numbers nice and neat, and all had over 100K.

And thats assuming the original odometer is still in there, When I worked for Ford in the ninetys, alot of guys would take a "spare" guage cluster home for their F-150's , swap it out every 5,000 miles...Talk about an extended warranty. I have been very sceptical of "low" mileage vehicles ever since...besides the mileage is irrelevant to me, it is condition that makes it worth the money. I would much rather have a well maintained high mileage vehicle than some rust bucket with dry rotted rubber and low miles. JMO..

Re: Looked at this one today

When I went to look at it I was expecting a lot more based on the price. I was sadly disappointed and will pass on this one. I really need to work on the 72 and not get another project but if it would have lived up to the ad I would have offered $5k. I originally said $4k tops and after sleeping on it think $3500
is more realistic.
