59 GMC to 66 frame
eyy i have a 59 GMC 1/2 ton stepside shortbed project that i am working on. and i have decided to focus all of my efforts to turning it into a racing specd prerunner. but that cant be achieved by using the stock suspension

IIRC, the biggest problem you are going to have is the later frame is much wider then the 59. The 59 is more of a ladder frame where the rails a straight, front to back.
A very common frame swap on 47-59 trucks is an S-10 frame. You might be better off using one of those and there should be a bunch of aftermarket pre-runner stuff for that frame. No matter what you do, it's not going to be cheap, especially if you don't have a garage full of fab equipment. Good luck and post up pics if you get this project going.
