Re: Craigslist find in Portland
It's a nice project for someone, but I doubt he'll get $9500 for it.

Yep, he missed the market for those kind of prices a couple of years ago. He will be lucky to get half that now.

Re: Craigslist find in Portland
Yea, and Mac you probably have more than that in your project now. We all know you hardly ever recover all your cost on these projects though. Especially in this economy!

Yeah, I'm 58 now and I'll be 80 and still driving mine.

Re: Craigslist find in Portland
Hey were only a year apart! I turned 57 in May. I don't plan on selling any of my stuff either, especially if the government ruins GM. Our stuff will keep getting more valuable...after the economy recovers. I don't see that happening in the next 3 years though.

The profit issue on new cars, with very few exceptions, seems to have gone away since the last century - and the dealers are charging criminal hourly rates to wrench your vehicle of late. Guess the bean counters have that figured down to the penny. With 'power everything' they won't waste their time diagnosing anything: Just go to the shelf and pull the $300 board out of inventory. That's why I do this - and will continue my apprenticeship here, and, of course keep a spare vehicle around to get my fat caboose to work on time. Mac.
