68 Tachometer Question?
I have a 292 4 spd and everywhere i look it seems that no one make a factory style tach for a 6cyl. I read somewhere that the camaro tachs work in our trucks but don't know if they make one for a 6 either. Do I have any options besides a aftermarket unit because I would really like to keep it stock looking.

a camaro tach doesn't look anything close to stock.
I would think a 6 cylinder truck tach would be very commin compaired to a camaro 6 cylinder tach. Keep an eye on the parts board and in big truck in the junkyards. |

I haven't seen any I was going to replace all the gauges in the cluster I forgot to mention I converted to HEI also so I need a stock looking 6cyl tach that works with HEI.

Ok, I have dumb question is a six cylinder tach different from a eight cylinder tach.

I don't know but when you look them up in LMC and other catalogs it always says V8. And every aftermarket tach I've owned has a switch to change it from 4-6-8 or wire loops to clip.

stock tachs work just fine with HEI, just replace the plug on the end and thats it

That being said you can calibrate a tach for a 6
