Re: custom side vents anyone have them

I saw a guy around town that used the vents from a late 70's z-28. That kinda messed with the lines of the truck. No pics, but I hope someone else comes up with some for you.

Just my .02... They are FUGLY.

Have you noticed they make stick - on ones? And have you noticed what vehicles have the stick on ones?

Re: custom side vents anyone have them

Vents are ricer bling. Keep the classic lines of your truck, and let the ricers keep those vents.

Re: custom side vents anyone have them

now looking more into it. it seems way too out of place. i have seen the three square linear ones on some old custom cars but anything that i have really looked at is just to much "ricer bling".

Re: custom side vents anyone have them

I have to say that I am horribly surprised how good those look on there, I am usually 100% against them as well.... These are pretty well done, still look out of place to me though.

I think that has been done quite nice. I have seen some with the trans-Am ones and it was popular back in the day...

Re: custom side vents anyone have them

I will see if I can find the picture, but some one on here did custom 3 hole vents in the sides of the hood. The holes I believe were a little elongate and to me it lookked real good.

Re: custom side vents anyone have them

that 67 pic from special K is the only one IMHO that will look good. You have a GMC and your avitar looks like you already shaved your side markers. It wont look autozoney either. You dont see a lot of them on these trucks. I want to have the vents machined out, but it might be easier to have new ones cast.

If I ever vented a fender, I would use the 07-10 Cadillac Escalade vents, not the cheapo ones. Trevor

Sounds like "Buick" Portholes. They were factory on Buicks for years and used in a lot of customs "back in the day."
