My Classic 65 Budget C10
This is my first post I finally got me a Classic C10 to play with!
The guy worked with me and let me pay a few payments. Nice find I think 900 bucks.... 1965 Fleetside straight six 3 on tree runs and drive great brakes stick a lil so it needs brake work heads been worked new batt carb looks nice new belts new master jelly jar but i want to change it to a dual goes into all the gears real nice all lights work has rockers rotted and floor board corners on fire wall and some fender rot other than that shes good to go... Motor is a 250 i think,What ya guys think? For now im just gonna throw on stock steelies wich i have and make my own white walls lower it as much as i can maybe drop springs in back cut springs up front new shocks and fix brakes then winter take cab off and clean it up fix the rot maybe start some metalic flat paint job...... http://s623.photobucket.com/albums/tt314/sswagon/ Last edited by 816allen; 08-29-2009 at 03:14 AM. |

Re: Newbe here first classic Proud owner of a 65 Fleetside
Thanks guys I scored me a nice set of tires off of CL for 60 bucks raised white letters then took my angle grinder with a sanding disc to them and now have a sweet set of 3 inch white walls
Also started the paint satin black with white roof and white strip goin down side lookin pretty good just gotta strip some paint off the driver door to make it smooth again..... Tires are still fresh and need to be cleaned but you get the idea Also the pic of the truck is my first coat of paint... Last edited by 816allen; 08-18-2009 at 02:25 PM. |

Re: Newbe here first classic Proud owner of a 65 Fleetside
Started to go with a paint for the wheels that was a satin tanish gold color as you see on my back spair wheel but i dont know i may just go with black any ideas out there....?
Got a few lines on bed with paint got lazy when i was painting but another coat should cover her up and a lil sanding.... Also took off all the lights and chrome around them and took some never-dull to them every bit counts.....They look way better now and on the tail light on the inside where the bulb is i got some silver paint to spray in there maybe brighten it up a lil when i hit the brakes... Re: Newbe here first classic Proud owner of a 65 Fleetside
Feels pretty good to score one of these classics. I have a 63 and 64 shortwide and I am still pinching myself. My sons 64 is almost done and Im not sure the future of the 63 yet. Thinking about doing a rat rod kind of a paint job and giving it to my other son. Congrats on your new truck.
