Th350 Kickdown Cable Linkage problem

Anyone have pictures of their TH350 Kickdown cable linking up to an Edelbrock Performer series carb? The truck I bought has the cable just resting on top of the motor, it appears to be missing the bracket that hooks it up to the throttle linkage. I cannot find anyone who can tell me what is missing and what I need, several mechanics just say, "uh looks like it needs a bracket" and nothing else. Edelbrock has a bunch of them on their website but not sure which one I need.... Anyone?

Thanks,
Brian (phoenix, AZ)

Re: Th350 Kickdown Cable Linkage problem

There are several ways to mount the detent cable. You can use an oem intake bracket like the Holley 20-45, the Lokar KDB-4350 or find one on Ebay or maybe even the GM dealer. Or use the style that bolts to the carb like the Edelbrock 8030 or 8036. I think Spectre and Mr. Gasket make that style, too. The carb mounted ones usually include a throttle cable hole, too, so you can mount your throttle cable (if you have one) to the top square hole and your detent cable to the bigger bottom square hole.

Re: Th350 Kickdown Cable Linkage problem

I posted these a couple of years ago for another reason but I think it shows the kick-down cable ok. The cable is off my dearly departed 1971 Monte Carlo. The bracket is a generic piece I bought from Edelbrock. I'm using the throttle cable hole for my aftermarket cruise control since I have a throttle rod. The kickdown is in its square hole. I hope it helps.

Looks like the Edelbrock 8036 bracket in gold zinc.
