Control or "A" arm differences
Does anyone know what the difference is in a 71-72 1/2 ton control arm from a 3/4 ton control arm? Possible bigger shaft assembly and ball joints? Has anyone ever used 3/4 arms on a 1/2 ton?

Re: Control or "A" arm differences
The actual hole where the ball joint presses into is larger on the 3/4 ton. I believe the cross shafts are the same.
There is a write up about using 3/4 ton lower arms with 88-98 3/4 ton Light Duty (6 lug) ball joints and spindles. This allows you to convert over to disc brakes, using factory parts. Cool thing is, the '92-'98 1/2 ton (5 lug) rotors fit these spindles as well, so you can have either 5 or 6 lug (or change at a later date) and only have to change the rotors. The upper a-arm you can use but change the ball joint over to the year spindle you use. I think I have the link at work, I can post it up tomorrow.
