how to make 8 lug new chevy wheels fit on a c 20
The wheels fit fine but i was wondering where you guys buy the double(dual) threaded lug nuts to make the center caps attach to the whole mess and also how to get the wheel cap to fit down on the wheel in the rear correctly. do you use dually rear center caps or would you suggest buying a wheel spacer?

I just bought some new used chromed steel wheels myself, haven't got to try them on yet. I'll keep an eye on your post though. Hopefully they'll work. These the same as what you got?
Much better looking than these old things. |

Try eBay, that is where I got mine. You can get them from parts stores but they are high priced.

Re: how to make 8 lug new chevy wheels fit on a c 20
I was referring to the double threaded nuts. I didn't read far enough to see the cap issue. I used dually caps on the rear of my K20. It has a full time frontend so I used the dually caps up front so they match. I don't know how it would look with deep caps in the back and regular caps in the front. How much deeper do they need to be? Do you have any stud sticking out through the stock nut?

Re: how to make 8 lug new chevy wheels fit on a c 20
I used lugnutking on ebay for the lug nut conversions. There is a few vendors on ebay that sell them. They are 9/16" with the outer threaded portion for the center caps. I had to use the dually caps on my rear axle because the regular ones didnt fit. The dually caps are too deep but I cut off about 3/8" to make them fit. If you dont have the Dana 60 axle they should fit fine without having to use dually caps. Hope this helps.

Are the lugnuts off the new Chevy Metric and the old standard. Crap if they are. I got everything with my wheels for $100. Maybe try a spacer to move wheel out.

Re: how to make 8 lug new chevy wheels fit on a c 20
I put a set of these on my 70 GMC. Had to put a 1 1/4" spacer on the rear so the centers would fit my Dana 60 hubs. Makes the rear wheels as far apart as the front wheels now. Looks good.

Here is a link (hope it works...lol) to lakeshore wheel...cheapest place I found to find the lug nuts you need...not sure which ones you need, so first link is 9/16"
http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com...2&prevstart=80 second is for 1/2" http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com...2&prevstart=80 third is for 7/16" http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com...2&prevstart=80 funny thing is they don't carry the plastic lug nuts that hold on the center caps! |

Re: how to make 8 lug new chevy wheels fit on a c 20
Thanks everyone. Ordered the 1/2 by 20 lugnuts from lugnutking on ebay. 32 for $42 delivered. This is on my 68 C20 with DANA 60. Sorry for hijacking thread, but the info was applicable here too. Guess i'll need to get spacer to make center cap fiton rear.

Re: how to make 8 lug new chevy wheels fit on a c 20
You can use the spacer or buy center caps from a dually and use those. The only thing with those is they may not exactly match the front, and you have to cut about 3/8"-1'2" inch off of them. Personally I carry alot of crap most of the time in my truck, and I dont trust a spacer with heavy loads. Maybe I'm just a weirdo

Re: how to make 8 lug new chevy wheels fit on a c 20
OHDan- I just put the same wheels on my C20. I have the black plastic centers but I was wanting the beauty rings; did yours come with those or were they added-if so where did you get them? I have the big 'ol Dana sticking 6 inches out so I will probably look into the spacer. I won't be hauling thing heavier than my 250 pounds. The 16" E rated tires look like bicycle tires compared to the 9:50/16.5's I took off of it.
