Hi All,
What's the cheap (I don't mind spending a little) way to lower a drum brake 66 truck in the front. I plan on going disc/drop spindles later on but would like to drive the truck with drums for now... Looking to drop it 4-5 inches in the front. I figured I would have to do the ole' hot wrench method, but was hoping others had some idea's...

Re: Lower a Drum Brake Truck
You're really limited to 3 inches in the front without buying drop spindles and converting the brakes. Even with a 3 inch spring, your suspension needs to be tight for the alignment to work. Any real slop in your control arm bushings and ball joints will not allow enough camber adjustment at three inches drop. You go further than 3 inches with just a lowering spring alone and you're not going to be able to get the alignment anywhere near proper spec.
A good source of cheap 3 inch front springs is Summit. Part number SUM G-727. I have run them plenty of times and even have a set under my current build.

Re: Lower a Drum Brake Truck
Thanks for the part number. I'm planning on droping the rear 6" so with the front at 3 the rake would be all wrong... I suppose I could drop it 5" in the rear and it would sit close to level. Then when I went 4.5 in the front I could add a 1" block. Decisions... Decisions... I wish I had one of those big redwood money tree's!
