?? Question, please enlighten me 67-72 SWB Fleetside Mexico Truck? **
OK, ran across something i have never seen before, it is a 67-72 c10 short bed fleetside......but it was built for Mexico, gauges have spanish text "gasolina", very basic gauge..sorry no pic as it was a quick look, night time view.
The most unique and the thing that really caught my eye was the bed. The body line, wheel well opening, taillights are all unique to this Mexico truck. Very smooth looking body line. Could not get the exact year, but, has a 69-70 grille, and 5 lug front end, but a 6 lug rear end. Anyone else had any experiences with one of these trucks? What kind of value for a relatively rust free, running inline 6 (292?), short bed, fleetside intact wood bedfloor truck?? Thanks in advance for your knowledge.... Adam 951-544-0721 |

Re: ?? Question, please enlighten me 67-72 SWB Fleetside Mexico Truck? **
the beds are pretty funky and cool. the top body line is parallel with the top of the bed rail, no curve, and of course the different taillights and gate.
I like the variations of the bodies internationally. most people would never notice~! check this out http://www.chevynet.com.ar/foro/index.php?board=4.0 ninja edit - here's more pics of the truck you posted! http://www.chevynet.com.ar/foro/inde...2d3&topic=68.0

I saw the exact same thing in Classic Trucks or Custom Classic Trucks, a red one from Mexico with a bed that looks more like a 66 truck with a stepside style tailgate.

The blue truck rear end looks like a '67 met up with a '58 Ford pickup and the Chevy lost....

Wild looking tail lights! Look like an old 60's Dodge Van or Ford Econoline Van's tail lights on the 68 Chevy truck.

Re: ?? Question, please enlighten me 67-72 SWB Fleetside Mexico Truck? **
Crazy looking. Did GM really think that people in other countries would prefer these different beds? Did they run some focus groups or what? Or, did they just want to differentiate their trucks from one country to the next just for the sake of it?

Re: ?? Question, please enlighten me 67-72 SWB Fleetside Mexico Truck? **
I believe the trucks were either shipped piggy back cab & chassis or in pieces.Either way the beds were made south of the border.I believe these trucks originate in Brazil and distributed throughout South and Central America.I lost picture files a while back and haven`t gathered any of these since.i`m sure someone has more pictures. We`ve had a member or two from South America who shared several pictures. He showed trucks hopped up with wheels, pipes, and paint, etc.
Check these out:

Re: ?? Question, please enlighten me 67-72 SWB Fleetside Mexico Truck? **
^ interesting, it has a fErd style body line behind the rear wheel, and the crew cab is really interesting, with the truck type rounded front door(instead of our burb door).
Why are there two pics of 'burbs' on there? wonder what the difference in those is, I think maybe one is set-up for work(4 passengers) and the other as a passenger carry( 9 passengers???) I've got some more pics of these south of the border trucks too. I'll have to dig them up... Adam, have you heard back from the seller, would be cool to have that truck in 'el norte'. also I'm pretty sure it's the same truck as in the link, he explains when he got it, the condition it was in. and what he did to fix it up...

The only difference I can make out in the text is number of passengers and seats.Prolly the same body.

looks to me like GM sent all the left over stuff to Mexico and being as inventive as they are this is what they came up with!

Re: ?? Question, please enlighten me 67-72 SWB Fleetside Mexico Truck? **
I would have no idea what its worth, but it would be unique anyway..
can you import that truck and register it up from Mexico? I know that they built for years the "old" VW Beetles there, but you could not import them to the US..
