Tailgate latch?
I was at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Pontiac & there were vehicles parked all over. I notice a truck that had taken the chains off the tailgate & had welded the push button part of a setbelt on the inside of the box. So when they shut the tailgate it ACTUALLY locked into the buckle part. Never seen this before & I would think it would be a GOOD? idea? Anyone ever see or try this? Should have taken a pic of it. I know. Howard

that's been around for a long long time in hotrodding i saw it first in the early 70's

yep, been around. A problem with it is the buckle is exposed to the weather and they can jam up. This is more important on a driver than a garage queen, but it rains on cruise in nights too... not to mention when you wash the truck before the cruise in.
