dully flare removal
Any dully fans out there that can give me some tips on the removal of the flares from a dully bed? We are scrapping the old rusty bed from my truk and can't figure out how to get to the bolts. Looking for advice as the flares are about the best of the bed.
Thanks. |

Re: dully flare removal
If your scrapping the bed, the easiest way is to take a sawzall to the bedsides.
Otherwise, you have to remove the lip between the bedside and the wheel well. Then you get yourself a 5/16 wrench (IIRC) and a grip of patience and stick you hand up in the 3” gap between the inner and outer fender and get to removing about 15 nuts (again, IIRC) that hold the dually fender on. It’s a major P.I.T.A. Go with option one. |

Re: dully flare removal
campys right its a pain also if your bed real rusty a good ol tetanus shot might not be a bad idea
and the stud size is 5/16 and the nut is 1/2 if I remember and you want to salvage the studs because you cant get them any where new

Re: dully flare removal
I like option 1. Sounds like it's the most fun and least expensive. I will definately save the studs.
Thanks. |

Re: dully flare removal
and by cutting off the bed sides you can use them for a pattron once you've taken them apart
