Question Hood question

What is the stuff under the cross arms on the under side of the hood? Is it a sponge of some kind? Mine was rotted away and i would like to replace it but don't know with what.

They are called anti rattle strips you can get the from any company that sells parts for 67-72 chevy stuff they are cheep they were only 20 bucks Can. 67-72 are the same.

What about that expanding foam,I wonder if that would work, spray it in than just trim it off

I dont think I would use expando foam, you could expand the height of the hood........
