?what will fit?
I have recently added to my collection a 67 c10 swb fleetside that has an inline 6, manual brakes, 3 spd in the floor (converted), with 6 lug axles. I want to turn this one into a daily driver. I could get a 86 gmc full size van for little to nothing (just haul it away). I was wondering if any of the parts from the van will fit with out any major modifications such as the rear axle (whole or just 5 lug axles), power steering box, and front spindles/brake assembly. I could go crawling around under the van but its been sitting for a while and bees have taken over. I'm sure that someone has looked into this era vehicles for parts but will it work. The van is drivetrain complete. I am quite capable of some modification but don't want to do a lot.

Re: ?what will fit?
You should be able to swap out the entire front x-member (rotor-rotor) and get the 5-lug disc brake front brakes. This would include the correct pitman arm to install the PS box to. The pump is a matter of acquiring the brackets ( if the van has a motor- then just rob those brackets. I would think the PB booster and MC would bolt up with the only mod being the length of the pushrod.....again, might be able to use the one from the van. The rear axle will be wider than your stock '67 unit, but should work. However you will need to cut off the leaf spring perches so you can bolt it up to your trailing arms, get an aftermarket panhard bar setup and probably make up some new brake lines. If you do use these parts- you'll most likely need to use the van wheels because they have more offset to account for the wider track of the front and rear suspension. With careful consideration and a little cuttin', fittin', weldin' and grindin'- pert near anything can be adapted to fit.

Re: ?what will fit?
Thanks for the info. Do I have to switch the whole x member or will the spindles fit? I will go take a look at the van and see what else is on it that I may be able to use or make a little money on.
