327 engine

Hi all finally pulled the 327 out of the doner truck i bought a few months ago only 65k on it! I was wondering how i know what the numbers meen on the block they read 3914678? can anyone decode

That casting number comes up as a 1968-69 302 from a Z-28 Camaro with either 2 or 4 bolt mains..

Got me on that one!? I have read that the 302 is the same as a 327 except it uses a 283 crank. Which gives a 3.00" stroke. I guess if all else fails you can measure the stroke to see if it is a 302 or 327?

What sites did you use to get those numbers?

Oh I see.. lol

I suppose the block is the same for all three.. Only difference is the stroke.
