Few Questions

I have a 84 c10 short bed and am wanting to lower it and put some new wheels on it. I am new to everything for the most part when it comes to these trucks. I am wanting to have a nice stance, and some nice wheels, but it will be a daily driver. Below is a link to the way i think i might like the stance with 22's. 20's would be ok as well. What i want to know is how to lower it. I have checked out DJM and was thinking about using there stuff. I want to keep the ride a good a possible as well. So what method should i use to lower the truck? Also i dont really know much about the wheels, bu I have looked around on the forum and just become even more confused. Not sure what tire sizes to use, not sure what back spacing is or anything really. Sorry for not knowing alot, just trying to get started. Any help would be awesome.

My guess is that the truck you linked to is down 4" in front and rear. If you look down this forum you will see a handfull of recent threads about how to lower your truck. Different methods some of us have used. And you will be able to see specs about how much drop we all have. As far as wheels go, you can find about anything you want to fit these trucks. If you want to drop $150 a wheel, you can. If you want to spend $2,500 a wheel, you can. What you do will all depend on what you like. (Or...it should.) Welcome aboard!

Do you think a 3in drop spindle and 2in coil spring would work in the front for about a 4in drop? Or would that make it closer to 5? I just dont want the wheels rubbing or anything if i can help it.

There are some members here that have that same look with a static drop. Maybe they will chime in shortly. The static drop wouldn't be that costly, but the wheels could get outragious. Just depends on what style of wheel you want. Give us some hints so we can help further.

As far a wheel style, a 5 or 6 spoke chrome. Maybe a mag look. Want a wheel that is somewhat retro hotrod but looks new a well. I really like these

What size are you wanting to run? DO you want 20s like you kinda hinted at above? I have about 6" drop in front and 8" in back. I don't have a pic on this computer but there are some in my album on here. Click on my name and you should be able to get into that.

Thanks for the replys. Do you get the Coys direct from them or does someone sell them retail. I like those and much cheaper.

That is a sweet truck; subtle yet stunning. If I wasn't scared to go that low, I would mimic yours! To the original poster, you need to be honest with yourself about what you want to do. I often found myself being idle because I was worried about what others thought. Make an honest assessment of your budget and go from there. Don't plan on airbags and drool over $3000 wheels if you can't realistically afford them. By realistic I mean eventually. I find it easier to buy more price parts month to month. That way I feel like I'm doing something. Budgeting money long-term doesn't work for me, I spend it on other stuff. Good luck with everything!
