Emissions removal, charcoal canister

Hello all,

I have a 1984 GMC swb 4x4, I just installed a ZZ4 crate engine with a serpentine belt system. I left all the emissions on the old motor and was wondering about the gas tank vent that went to the charcoal canister. Can I cap off the vent line or will the tank build up pressure? The new engine came with a fuel pump that has no bypass, so I already had to cap off the bypass line from the tank. If I cap off the vent that will leave me with one line from the tank to the fuel pump, will this work?

Thanks,
Dale

Thanks for the reply, did you also cap off the return line from the fuel pump?
