Lift block question
I have a 68 chevy 4X4 and the rear leaf springs measure 3 inches wide, it is safe to use a 4 inch lift block that is 2.5 inches wide?

Re: Lift block question
Drove mine for 13 years with 4" Rancho lift kit on the back with no problems. Kept it and plan on driving it for 20+ more!

Re: Lift block question
I guess it could be alright. But,blocks are cheap,if you can find 3" wide.Is that the problem? How about finding some thick wall pipe to sleeve the u-bolt along the block and between the springs and bottom plate.Do you follow me?

Re: Lift block question
Make sure you tighten the ubolts several times after the install. Centered that is only a 1/4 difference on each side. I ran 4" rear blocks in the rear for about 20+ yrs and never had a problem. With the blocks and stock springs the truck rode better, than with the high dollar BDS rear springs.

Re: Lift block question
you will be fine........
like stated above check and tighten U bolts after a little bit of trip on them. check or then replace the "guide stud or bolt" make sure the "guide bolt" goes threw the springs and then tighten with a nut, which will then fit into the block to help keep it all in place.

Re: Lift block question
I would say that your springs are 2.5 wide where they bolt to the axle. On my 68 k20 they where 2.5 in the center of the spring and 3 inches at both ends. I had them re arched at a spring shop and they told me that they where like that because the springs got wider at the ends as they rolled it out from the center going each direction.
