Door wont open any more HELP!!!!!

i have been rebuilding the passenger side of my truck, lower front door pillar, front floor support and floor panel is what i have done so far. I decided to make sure the door fit before i went forward with installing the new inner and outter rocker panels. at first the door would stick out about 1/8 inch when closed, i slid the door forward and had the same result. so i tried sliding the striker plate up. Now the door closes and has perfect gaps and body lines. The down side, the door doesnt open any more. I puch the button on the door handle and i here it disengage, but the door is stuck closed.

Any advice out there?

Push down or pull up on the door while trying to open it? One of the doors on my new cab are like that. Hopefully it will correct itself when I mount it on the frame.

You should be able to still open the door. It sounds like the door handle popped the spring plate off. Not good for the handle, but not the end of the worl either. Just finnish pushing the thumb button on the handle inside the door and you can look inside the opening. You will see a flat piece of metal that is part of the latch. Just stick your finger inside and push it in. That will reliece the latch so you can open the door. (Just make sure the gremlin inside the door doesn't bite your finger.... WES

gremlins, thats what happened to me...hahaha WES ...good one. you may need someone release the latch while you get inside and gently kick the door to get it opened. Just be careful not to dent the door.
