need help w/ header selection

I need help choosing a new set of headers for my 86 c10.It already has headers from when I purchased it ,but they are too long, and the primarys are too small.(guessing around 1 1/2'').The truck has angle plug heads and the tuck is lowered about 5".It is a small block.Anyone have any suggestions or part #s.Thanks

Depends on what you want. You can get a set of shortie block hugger style or you can go with the old fashion long style. I would stay with a named brand as their quality usually has to be better to protect the brand name. Your question is too broad. How much do you want to spend? What are your intentions with the rest of the exhaust system? What kind of material do you want carbon or stainless steel coated or un-coated? Long or short? These will point you in the right direction.

Re: need help w/ header selection

I run hookers on my 86. They fit perfect. Make sure, whatever type you get, to have them coated. I had mine coated along with the y pipe it came with by an aftermarket company and its the difference between night and day as far as heat in the engine goes. And after a few thousand miles they still look killer.
