Rusty Bolts
What are some technq.'s to remove stepside? Going to be taking them off this weekend. Wanna see if you guys have any tips i can use if i run into problems

are you taking the bed off the frame or the fenders and steps off the bed?

I like to use a sledge hammer for the bigger jobs.
If you can't fix it with a hammer then you have an electrical problem. |

sometimes liquid penetrant will work. you may have to cut the 8 bolts that connect the bed to the frame off with an angle grinder.

If your are trying to remove bolts that go into a threaded hole on the other side and want to avoid twisting them off, get an acetylene torch on low-med heat and heat the heads red hot, doesn't take very long. Let it cool completely and they will spin right out with a ratchet. Note, propane or mapp gas torch will not work, not hot enough.

well darn i was going to use the MAPP gas torch too. I guess i will use that for fixing the oil canning on the top side of the fenders. I think i will just cut em off.
