Ok Been a truck guy now i am a Jimmy guy??

I have owned and played with the 67-72 trucks forever, this is my first Jimmy/Blazer and my first GMC. I am finding quite a bit of things that are just different. What are the main things that are different from a C-10 and what about the differances between the jimmy and the blazer? Do they call the jimmy a k series??

Thanks
Vance

Re: Ok Been a truck guy now i am a Jimmy guy??

The main difference between a C-10 and a Jimmy/Blazer is that the bed it integrated into the driver's cabin.

Main differences between c-10 and truck -
1. body
2. length
3. removable top
4. seats 4 (if you have a back seat)

Main difference between a Jimmy & Blazer
1. front clip (grill, fenders, headlights, bumper, etc)
2. says "GMC" on the tailgate

Now, onto the pictures please...

Do the front clips on the trucks interchange with a blazer/jimmy?

Looks clean, thanks for the pics. I think you got a good deal.

Pretty sure the cruise is aftermarket.

You could swap the front clips. Fenders, radiator supports, and grills are different. Do you not like the GMC look?

I love the GMC look just wondering, i have never owned a GMC or a Blazer/jimmy but i am loving this baby!!!! She runs like a dream. There are a few issues i am in need of a new AC compressor, and the dam heater wont shut off keeps blowing hot air???

Re: Ok Been a truck guy now i am a Jimmy guy??

You'll need that heat soon enough.

There is a vacuum operated valve on the passenger fender that should shut the heat off.

Does the fan shut off?

I am still working on my heat/AC

Nice truck and it sounds like you got a good deal.

I have to say, though, that you haven't had the full experience until you cruise around with that top off.

Vance.. I do not think the hood ornament is origonal equipment..that looks to be off of a 73-75 truck.

All 4X4's were "K" series.. pickups, Blazers, and Jimmys..

Yes the front clips interchange between trucks, Blazers and Jimmys

It seems like the fan does shut off, the fan seems weak compared to the 67 c-10 i will look at the vacuum valve and see if i can figure it out

thanks
