Steering Wheel

I just got a steering wheel off an 89 chevy van that is in 100% excellent condition. What do you guys think about it's looks based on the stock looking interior of my bucket? Should I keep the Grant I have or should I go for the one I just acquired...Give me your honest opinion, my feelings dont ever get hurt here is a pict of what I have and a pict of the wheel I just got...The grant is coming off as I am going to possibly buy the three spoke from grant if I dont use the stocker.

Re: Steering Wheel

I say run the bottom one, I hate grant wheels. To me they cheapen up your interior. The interior on these trucks have an elegance to them. Either use that one, or find you a 73-93 steering wheel.

Re: Steering Wheel

Big Al you know your truck is my favorite truck on the the site, But I really don't like any of them. The one you have is the best out of the choices. I don't like mine either it's like school bus. I want the billet bango wheel but I can't bring myself to spend the 400 bones.

Thanks Mike!!!!
I think I am going to have to keep what I have till something different comes along.....The one I got today one of my techs brought it to me and he was all excited to have gotten it for me as I had mentioned that I wanted a stock looking wheel...

Re: Steering Wheel

Al, I was not trying to insult you by my Grant comment, that's my opinion about Grant wheels. I just restored a blue 3 spoke wheel like MSGROSS posted to match my interior. I think if you are looking for the best wheels to put in your truck, I would go with the 3 spoke Chevy/Buick Wheels. You can't beat the look, especially if you go with a wooden steering wheel, but expect to pay $$$. For a nice comfortable steering wheel with that Chevy look, really look into getting a 88-93' 4 spoke Leather or cushion grip wheel out of the trucks of that era. They look pretty nice in there and serve their purpose. Trevor

Trevor it did not insult me or bother me in the last bit, come on man I want everyones true opinion. I am leaning towards a factory steering wheel not necessarily one from our truck as that is what I took off and sold it to someone in here over a year ago. I want something that would look the part of the stock looking truck I actually thought the van steering wheel would look better than the grant..
Do you have any picts of the wheels you are suggesting?
Thanks
Al

How about one of these? Top one is around $125 from Summit or Jegs. The bottom one you can usuall pickup off the board for around $60.

Re: Steering Wheel

one of the members in here lives near my shop and pm'd me and told me he has one just like the second one Rob so I am probably going to pick it up....just to have something different hell I might even put the van one just for craps and giggle. These steering wheels can be changed so quickly that just like the wheels I can change the look every other weekend... (Man I need another project just to quit screwing with this one)

Re: Steering Wheel

I say keep the steering wheel you have now. I like the wheels that are original to our trucks...but if I didn't have one, I'd run a Grant. That bottom wheel in your pic looks like it has an airbag in it

Re: Steering Wheel

Out of the choices I like the aftermarket style wheels. I'd keep the Grant for now or run the Summit if I HAD to change given the choices. The van style steering wheels with the broad cross section remind me of my mom's Chevy Celebrity.
