Remove rear cab stainless trim?

I have a 72 Cheyenne Super and it has the stainless trim that runs underneath the rear window and wraps around the rear of the cab and butts up against the drip rails. Does anyone have any tips on removing it without bending it all out of shape? Any special tools required/recommended?

Thanks!

There is a molding removal tool that you can get which should work on that trim. I left mine on and worked around it because I knew I would jack it up trying to get it off.

Re: Remove rear cab stainless trim?

I pulled one of at a junk yard. On the bend around the side of the cab, it was kind of dented and wasn't on the clip all the way so I took a screw driver and pryed it a little and just pulled it off with my hands very slowly. It cam off pretty good, but I bet if I ever take another one off I will find out the correct way to do it.

I took mine out the easy way I guess... cut it out from the inside. I replaced the rubber. It was a challenge getting it in. I found it was easier to install it prior to placing the window in the cab.

I think he's talking about the paint separation trim that runs along the back of the cab below the rear window and not the rear window trim that goes inside the window rubber.

Re: Remove rear cab stainless trim?

Yep, it's the thin lower piece of trim, below the rear window.
