67-72 Steel / Louvered Visors
Hey - Back in the 80's I had a steel visor on my 70'd, that was chrome and louvered. Sort of cheesy to today's standards, but I'd love to find an aged and rusted cousin from back i the day... I'll look for the photo's
Not over the doors - but, across the front / top - like this one from MIKET http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1111379708

Re: 67-72 Steel / Louvered Visors
there is a guy at a local flea market who has one for sale, along with an aluminum intake and carb set up for a inline 6! I want that for sure if I get up the money! what are you looking to spend on the visor?

Re: 67-72 Steel / Louvered Visors
Naa, I'll be nice and not say it. The good O'l boys at the truck stop will probably go nuts over it though. My buddy has visors on all of his trucks and I have to razz him every chance I get.

Re: 67-72 Steel / Louvered Visors
I think the company was J & J.They mostly made stailess cow catchers ,bed rails, running boards, and cab protectors for the dually tow vehicle market.I bought a chrome one for my`70 C/30 DRW utility bed truck for the big truck look I was going for. But,they don`t clear cab lights,so I sent it back and got a primed one to cut. But,you`d be into the louvers and I just decided not to mess with it and leave the look more original.Never ran stacks, either .I thought I had a picture of it set on one of my trucks on my`puter.

Re: 67-72 Steel / Louvered Visors
well...mine already has patina.it`s unused, but it looks like an old GM N.O.S. piece now with the old black primer.I think I bought that in`88.i took pictures yesterday evening and loaded them.when I edited my post to add them in,I couldn`t find them.I erase my camera right after loading pictures routinely.it was dark by then.I`ll do it again.

Re: 67-72 Steel / Louvered Visors
funny you bring this up I have been on the prowel for one if you look at the pic I have one on the KW....I like the look of the ones from the big trucks because they lay almost flat against the windshield...gives that slammed look
On a side note you can forget about seeing the traffic light when you roll up to it....but Kool has its price...

Re: 67-72 Steel / Louvered Visors
I know visors were popular all over.i bought mine out west somewhere west of the Mississippi. The Mason-Dixon line didn`t run that far out.

Re: 67-72 Steel / Louvered Visors
one thing I have done is tinted my winshield down as far as the sunvisors go..about 6" down the windshield...sometimes i find myself looking out the side window to see traffic lights..put your visor down and you'll see...for 10 buck think there will be one on my next order
